Felipe Alberto - Up and Out Reality TV Show

Back in Lima Shooting Reality TV Show

“Up and Out” the Canadian produced reality TV show that travels the globe experiencing different cultures by way of their music, shot its first episode in Peru, over the course of three weeks in November and December. The crew, made up of Geordie Trifa (cinematographer) and Adam Evanik (sound technician) both of CTV News and hosts – Roanne Kosokowski with her two young daughters, arrived in Lima in early December after two weeks in the Andes and southern jungles of Peru. In the capital city, they met up with Felipe Alberto, who, in collaboration with the efforts of Pasache Music, traveled from Calgary, Canada to submerge them into the world of Musica Criolla. Amongst other things they met with living legend and composer José (Pepe) Villalobos Cavero at his restaurant and club Casa de Pepe Villalobos. The group also experienced a traditional jarana (a get-together with song, dance, and food), in the iconic Callejón del Buque, a residential complex of the early twentieth century that was home to numerous poets and musical figures such as composer Félix Pasache; the musical group Peru Negro; and the famous Valentina Barrionuevo. While at the jarana they were joined by guitarists Carlos Ayala and Oscar Avilés Jr., cajonista Coqui Leturia, singer Carlos Castillo, and singers/television personalities such as Julio Andrade, Julie Freundt, and Ebelin Ortiz, who joined the festivities and of course deigned to share their talent in song and dance at the gathering.
