“Up and Out†the Canadian produced reality TV show that travels the globe experiencing different cultures by way of their music, shot its first episode in Peru, over the course of three weeks in November and December. The crew, made up of Geordie Trifa (cinematographer) and Adam Evanik (sound technician) both of CTV News and hosts – Roanne Kosokowski with her two young daughters, arrived in Lima in early December after two weeks in the Andes and southern jungles of Peru. In the capital city, they met up with Felipe Alberto, who, in collaboration with the efforts of Pasache Music, traveled from Calgary, Canada to submerge them into the world of Musica Criolla. Amongst other things they met with living legend and composer José (Pepe) Villalobos Cavero at his restaurant and club Casa de Pepe Villalobos. The group also experienced a traditional jarana (a get-together with song, dance, and food), in the iconic Callejón del Buque, a residential complex of the early twentieth century that was home to numerous poets and musical figures such as composer Félix Pasache; the musical group Peru Negro; and the famous Valentina Barrionuevo. While at the jarana they were joined by guitarists Carlos Ayala and Oscar Avilés Jr., cajonista Coqui Leturia, singer Carlos Castillo, and singers/television personalities such as Julio Andrade, Julie Freundt, and Ebelin Ortiz, who joined the festivities and of course deigned to share their talent in song and dance at the gathering.
Felipe Alberto will perform at the Real Club, in Lima, Perú, at 20:00 hrs on December 11, 2015 accompanied by the renowned Willy Terry and Renzo Gil on guitar and Carlos Postigo Miranda on keys.
Honoured to receive cultural achievement awards from both the City of Paterson, New Jersey as well as the New Jersey Legislature on July 11, 2015, along with the great Manuel Donayre, Pasache Music, and Ricardo Quispe Oré producer of the motion picture “Sueños de Gloria.â€

Saturday, July 11, 2015, Pasache Music presents an evening of traditional south american musica criolla at Coliseum Night Club in White Plains, New York, as part of the 2015 Alma del Ayer tour.
Thank you Janet for a wonderful evening on your show on Willax TV and for taking the time to share musica criolla. Here is a clip from the interview that shows parts of the music video for La Apañadora.
While on Una y Mil Voces I performed Por Esa Ingrata an little known yet truly beautiful and heart wrenching song by Félix Pasache.
Saturday, May 30, 2015 I was honoured to perform as a special guest on Una y Mil Voces hosted by Bartola on Perú’s national television station, TV Perú. It was wonderful to share the stage again with friends such as Jorge Pardo, Jorge Luis Jasso, Alejandro Velasquez, Julie Freundt, and Julio Andrade. That particular two hour edition of Una y Mil Voces was to honour famed Peruvian composer, Félix Pasache. As such I sang one of his most famous songs, Nuesto Secreto translated into French.
Thank you to the lovely people of Standout Publications for the wonderful interview and article on Alma del Ayer in their Summer 2015 issue.
Enjoy the article!
